Hylamide Conflicts. This is just a guide. Overall I highly recommend these two products to those who have oily and/or congested or acne-prone skin, and I particularly recommend the Lactic Acid to those who are trying to get into exfoliating acids but aren’t sure where to start. This product I just use 3 drops at night after the Niacinamide, it is a fairly strong formula – you can also buy this product at 5% Lactic Acid – and so I wouldn’t advise applying this more than once a day. I know I go on about the nightmare I have with my skin a lot, but if you’re not blessed with amazing skin then you’ll know how much it actually does take over your life and how it probably feels like you’ve tried most things but nothing works, so when you find something that you feel is helping, it’s exciting. (I'm not sure which would be better?) Lactic Acid is another exfoliating AHA that is used to brighten the skin, ... My absolute fave product from The Ordinary, Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% is great for all skin types, but is particularly good for those with oily skin, larger pores or congestion issues. Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%: A recent addition to my skincare regime, but one I can’t live without now. The most recent in from The Ordinary, the 100% Pycnogenol 5% is a plant-derived antioxidant. “It uses a 30% concentration of AHAs (glycolic, lactic, tartaric and citric acids) and 2% BHA (salicylic acid),” he explains – a strength significantly higher than most. I wasn’t sure if I would actually put this post up since Deciem/The Ordinary has had a hectic last few weeks, with the stores being closed down and the CEO being stood down. Find out which product is the best. Additionally, you may need to experiment with a few different treatments. Lactic Acid 10% + HA Okay I can say this now!! The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% ($5.90/£5.00): Available at Asos, Beauty Bay, Cult Beauty, Escentual, Sephora, and Ulta. I hadn’t particularly noticed a huge difference in my skin tone and the brightness of my skin, maybe on the odd day, but family and close friends have commented that my skin does look even and has more colour, so I guess you stop seeing it when you’re looking at your own skin everyday! The Niacinamide has a gel-like consistency which is very easy to spread and soaks in very quickly. The congestion has gotten worse lately, probably down to other factors such as stress, but I find the Niacinamide keeps it from getting worse, especially with oil control. I use Niacinamide 10% serum morning and night. The Lactic Acid is very gentle and never drying (probably because of the HA in it). The Ordinary products typically are either water-based or oil-based, and it's important you apply your water-based products first. This study compared the absorption of AHAs at pH 3.0 and 7.0, and found that the higher the pH, the less the skin absorbs. And don’t forget to … Also, it goes without saying, but I’ll say it here anyway – be sure to wear sunscreen when using this regularly as acids make your skin more sensitive to sunlight (although you should probably wear sunscreen every day). It is basically a peeling agent to help exfoliate and clear dead skin and dirt and so I would advise exfoliating the next morning to get rid of any excess product and skin, but due to this the product itches ALOT, well it has done for me anyway, it doesn’t sting, doesn’t hurt, but some days it kind of makes you feel like you want to claw your face off to stop the itching, but I promise this does only last a few minutes and then it will stop, and after about 6 weeks of using it every night religiously it has finally stopped itching altogether!! While effective, lactic acid is not as strong as glycolic acid, making it a great starter acid for newbies or people with more sensitive skin. Just skip the SPF here.
